CAN CRY: FIRST TEST DRIVE
Welcome one and all to the very first test drive meme for Can Cry! If you're unfamiliar with the game, then you can check out the interest check, FAQ, world & setting info page and the powers and abilities page to get up to speed! Since the game is still very much under construction, this is just an initial test drive for people to dip their toes into the water and see which characters they'd like to consider for the game. In order to not spoil the opening of the game for players, the TDM is not canon to Can Cry and will take place in a slightly wonky little AU just over to the left. Characters have awoken in Purgatory after their deaths and been conscripted as Executors by Rei, the sole other Executor in Purgatory. The population of dangerous spirits has gotten out of control and she needs some allies to help her keep things under control. Characters on the TDM will have access to all of their starter powers as outlined on the powers page as well as two unique abiliites to play around with as you please. Some prompts and location details have been provided below for you to play around with but please feel free to go hog wild and have fun!
![]() Limbo is the Executor's main base of operations as it is the top level of Purgatory and the one most populated by non-violent spirits. Distorted by the cognition of all the human souls here, Limbo has taken on the form of a hazy, dream-like recollection of a town. It's full of winding paths that go up, down and all around and the geometries of the town and its surroundings don't always make much sense. Stairs might lead loop back around on themselves or a door to the outside might end up leading right back indoors. It's a bit of a headache, so it's usually best not to think about it too hard. The town is mostly functional, mostly thanks to all the human souls here. Players are free to invent any additions to the town that they would like for their threads, but here are some to get you started:
⚝ Hotel: A so-called luxury hotel that towers over the rest of the buildings in the area. Even if you don't have a reservation, all you have to do is approach the desk and the Spectre there will apparently recognize you and hand over a key to one of the rooms. Except... you can't quite read the number? It seems to fluctuate whenever you try. Not that it matters, because the key will open any of the hundreds of doors in the building, though no one door will ever open onto the same room twice. The layout of each room is subtly off in a number of ways, with the dimensions of the room not seeming quite right no matter how you try to work it out. The decor is luxurious through and the extravagant room service is free, so it's a nice place to relax. Be warned, though – if you misplace your key, you'll find yourself lost in the mazelike halls until you eventually stumble out into the reception with no way of knowing how you got there. ⚝ Bathhouse: An enormous Grecio-Roman styled bathhouse for you to relax in after a hard day's work of dealing with Revenants. There don't seem to be any workers here that you can see, so feel free to let yourself in and make yourself at home. Interestingly, even without anyone around, you'll find the water is always adjusted to a temperature and a fragrance that's most appealing to you and drinks, towels and anything else you need will appear within reach by the side of the baths whenever it occurs to you that you might need it. When in doubt: Just get weird with it!
⚝ Two Spectres are causing a ruckus in town with a screaming-in-each-other's-face tier argument. Calming them both down is going to be a task all on its own, but if you manage to, it turns out the first Spectre is missing a precious object and has accused the other of stealing it. The second Spectre insists the precious object never existed in the first place. Uh... good luck with this. ⚝ A uncommunicative and kind of creepy Spectre is accused by others in the town of being a Revenant in disguise after some of their neighbors disappear in the night. Investigate and uncover the truth! Feel free to NPC Spectres as you need for this TDM!
![]()
This is a general prompt for combat-oriented testing, to allow characters to experiment with their new powers as Executors! Because of that, and because combat will function slightly differently in-game, this section is pretty loosey goosey. Like previous posts, you are free to invent locations and NPC Revenants to make things more fun and exciting! Because Revenants will function in a unique way in-game, players are encouraged to invent their own Revenants to fight for this TDM. If you would like some ideas for what sort of Revenants to battle, you can check out this video to see what sort of enemies exist in the original game, but beware that it does contain spoilers for Crystar.

Anna Fugo | GRANBELM | envy, pride, or wrath
Ugh!
[You'll hear the slam of another door before you see a red-haired teenage girl storming down the hall to try the next one.]
Would it be so hard for this place to have doors go the same way all the time? There's something wrong about it.
[stolen object]
[The Spectres have been arguing for a while, and you might think to step in -- except this girl has already marched in and slapped the accused thief across the face.]
People like you are nothing but dirt on the ground. Obviously you're the one who's wrong, aren't you?
What? You can't seriously be saying you believe them! I didn't even --
I'm saying you're making a nuisance of yourself, so just give back whatever it is already!
[...apparently, listening to both sides is for squares.]
[underside]
[Anna has shown up in a dress that you would think would be terrible to fight in. Not to worry, she's apparently having the time of her life slicing into a particularly large Revenant with a two-handed axe.]
Yes! Ahahahaha, get out of my way! This is what I was made for!
[That laughing sounds a little concerning.]
Underside (psst the link to her costume isn't working)
[It's just that the present she wants to open is, uh. Actively trying to kill them.]
Oooh, I can't wait to see what's inside~!

Mira Delacroix | OC | envy, sloth, or wrath
I thought--
[ You know, this place is fucking weird. She's sure there's an end in sight, but all she gets as she keeps walking is another shelf. Another. And another. And the items are sure getting weirder. Needless to say, she's not a fan.
If someone's around, she'll turn to them, then point to the items. ]
... Do these look weird to you?
[ Or, meet her at the front of the store, looking frazzled. ]
I wouldn't go too far in there, if I were you.
you need to calm down;
Screaming isn't going to--
Well, being calm isn't doing anything!
[ This, perhaps, had been a mistake to step into. The second Spectre is either genuinely unaware of the item's existence, or playing dumb for some reason. To be honest, she's discovering she's not so great at diplomacy. She's also wishing she had some sort of power to compel people to tell the truth, or something to tell her if someone's lying.
She's also getting a little impatient, and being yelled at is not doing her mood any favors. ]
If we figure this out, we can all go home and forget about this. [ To the second Spectre: ] If you're truly in the dark, that's fine, but this one won't leave you alone unless you return it if you have it.
[ She's... she's trying very, very hard. ]
powers;
[ She's pretty curious in general, but... well, it strikes her that maybe she should see exactly what she can do, aside from the enhanced speed and durability. Catch her in a more open place, staring at her hands... which are sparkling a little. Huh. ]
Okay...
[ She thrusts her hands forward... and sheets of ice form on the ground. There may be some extremely sharp icicles jutting upward, too, perhaps-- right at you? ]
Oh-- I'm really sorry, I didn't see you there!
calm down
[A severed, mummified-looking finger.]
[Judging by the way the Spectre recoils in horror, the answer is apparently no.]
Great, that means I can keep it, right?

chara dreemurr | undertale | definitely wrath
[The point is that if they're not able to leave, that means they're not able to pay for their goods here. Which means that everything on these shelves is more or less free game. Right?]
[That's definitely what Chara's taking it to mean. They just up and grab a basket and then start filling it with every possible junk food they can imagine. They can't even read what half of this stuff is. It looks like it's sugary, though, so in the basket it goes. This one looks chocolate - even better. To the basket with it!]
[Then, with the air of someone who has straight up run out of fucks to give, Chara unwraps what appears to be a snack cake and simply begins chowing down.]
[Look, if they can't leave, no one can make them pay for it.]
[Chara can feel their smile starting to thin. They're probably spooking the child they're ostensibly to be helping, but what are they meant to do about that, exactly? The child should have thought about that before approaching Chara of all people for help.]
I understand that this is all very confusing, [says Chara in a tone that would not be out of place in addressing a gaggle of preschoolers, in spite of the fact that their apparent age is no greater than the child's they're meant to be assisting,] but I will be utterly unable to help you unless you can provide me with information of better merit than what you are currently giving me.
[The best samaritan right here. And also not very likely to reunite the child with their mother at the bookshop unless someone a little better equipped to handle this steps in to help. Not that Chara will likely appreciate the help. Alas.]
[Dark and eerie and full of dangers?]
[Well, they're already dead. What's the worst that could happen? Purgatory is already a nicer fate than what they were sure was waiting for them anyway. They can't exactly recall why they thought that...but that hardly matters.]
[A noise behind them, and Chara whirls around with their weapon springing to life in their hands. It appears to be a massive scythe, though its blade glitters with an eerie, reddish light rather than your more standard, steel-colored hue.]
[Their eyes are equally red, and just cold.]
Show yourself.
[Regardless of whether the approacher is a Revenant or another Executer, Chara's demeanor remains equally chilly either way.]
I.
[If they look around, they shouldn't have much trouble spotting the source:]
[Some goddamn gremlin has scaled the shelves and is standing on top trying to whack the ceiling tiles open with a can of pringles.]
[She's a small blonde teenager in what looks like the uniform for a fancy private school, audibly talking to herself with no apparent concern for the fact that there are other people around.]
It's a convenience store, so why doesn't it sell power tools? Those would be really convenient right now.

Rose Quartz | Steven Universe | Lust, Gluttony
[This giant pink woman is going on a Convenience Store adventure!
She's made it pretty deep into Conbini's shelves, to the point where the items on the shelves have stopped being identifiable, or even particularly items. So far, she hasn't turned around. If she's done this already and been rubber-banded back, she doesn't seem concerned about it happening again.]
Look at this! There's so many shapes and colors and things - what are these?
[She plucks one of the abstract shapes, a sort of indistinct mauve oval, off the shelf and turns it over in her hands. It looks sort of...chalky?]
ii. bathhouse
[Today, she has found the bathhouse! This woman doesn't seem as though she entirely understands the purpose of the bathhouse - she's just happily sitting in the bath, still fully clothed, her long dress rippling lightly in the water. She beams.]
Isn't this just lovely? The water feels so nice!
iii. fite
[She's adapting well to this form of fighting. Leaping around feels natural, and the strength feels no different than normal. Maybe it's just that she doesn't remember any different.
Even the shield she's summoned, pink and translucent with a rose motif, seems pretty easy to use. It's just a shield, after all. She lifts it to intercept an attack from the Revenant she's fighting, letting it smash its staff across the shield with no obvious damage. She's obviously not going to be easy to hurt - when she tries to slam into it with the shield, the creature turns away to go after what might be an easier target.]
Watch out!
faito
[More like it turns into a slamming attack from another shield, much less pink and floral than Rose's, no less solid.]
Try to cut it off!

Pyrrha Nikos | Disney's Attack on Titan | Pride, Envy
We can't possibly just take these without paying, can we?

Stan Pines | Gravity Falls | Greed, Envy
[Is it necessary to shoplift from this place? Probably not.
Is he filling his coat and pockets with snacks anyway? 100% yes!
Granted, he's not being terribly subtle about it. He was at first, but there's no shopkeeper and no cameras, and probably no money in whatever weird hell place they've all landed in. So who cares? He's just sorta taking shit now.]
You think they got, uh...
[He feels like there's a particular snack he likes. But he can't remember what it might be. Not wanting to unpack that, he grabs something at random.]
Did this candy always come in - [Squinting] - "tea flavor"?
ii. mystery revenant investigation
HEY!
[He doesn't entirely know the situation here, but he just doesn't like the look of this one Spectre being confronted by what looks like a quickly-forming angry mob. A crowd against one isn't fair. Even if...yeeeesh, on a closer look, the guy is creepy. Whatever, sticking to his guns.]
Any of you knuckleheads got a real reason to think they're a monster? No? Then scram.
[He folds his arms and glowers, standing in front of the admittedly creepy weird person. Doesn't seem like he's planning on investigating this so much as just intimidating his way through it.]
iii. fite 2
Okay, magic weapon things...
[They said there'd be magic weapon things, so obviously one has to go test them out, right? Despite being an old man, he doesn't seem too concerned about facing down one of the Revenants, even if his magic weapon things aren't immediately appearing. He doesn't need some sparkly magic powers to beat the crap outta something!]
C'mon! You wanna fight?
[Though when he squares up to take a swing - looks like a boxer - a pair of glowing brass knuckles suddenly appears on his hands! Bam!]

Shinjiro Aragaki | Persona 3 | Sloth, Pride
[Well. This is a nuisance. He'd walked in here looking for some kind of ingredient for a dish he wanted to make, but now he's deep in some kind of mysterious goo section and there appears to be no end in sight, while turning around takes him back to the first aisle. Which way is even the exit anymore? It is a mystery. Eventually, Shinjiro gives up and just sits right down in the middle of an aisle, obstructing foot traffic because what the fuck ever.]
Tch, this place is stupid.
ii. hotel
[So here's a scene that's played out multiple times by now: Shinjiro, having been handed a strange mysterious key and tried to give it back, has simply been given the same chirpy thank you for your patronage! spiel, and chucked it out in the nearest trash bin in frustration. Cue: suddenly winding back up at the desk with a new key in his hand.]
Look, lady, I'm tellin' you, this key ain't mine! Take it back already!
[This is the worst time loop ever??? Especially since he doesn't seem to be aware it's happening. Maybe stop him from throwing it away this time?]
iii. lost child
[You know that Mulaney bit that's like "Whoa, that tall child looks terrible! Get some rest, tall child!"? That's a rough summary of the scene that unfolds before you as you happen to walk down the streets of Limbo--a small child, crying, distraught, holding the hand of a much taller, more tired looking child in a coat and a beanie who definitely can't keep burning the candle at both ends. His other hand is shoved in a pocket. He looks very uncomfortable about this current state of affairs, but he notably has not released Small Child's hand despite this.]
Any chance you know this kid? He ain't much for talkin', but I think he's lookin' for his mom.
[It feels extremely, earthshatteringly important that he find her for him, but he can't quite place why.]
lost child
Oh, um... we haven't met before, but I can help you out.
[ She gives the lost child her best try at a smile, but the strain is obvious. ]

Dimitri Mc Fireemblem | Three Houses | Wrath??? | Slight warphase spoilers
[Ever since they 'woke up' here, the man in the armor and furs (was that his Executor form or just his normal one? no one seems to know) was hard to pin down. Where does he rest? Does he eat? When was the last time the stinky boarman took a bath???
Today apparently- because if you're lucky you might catch him in the bath hose in just a towel, steaming. He's not doing anything to untangle his matted hair but at least he is now 50% less smelly hobo.
Also he doesn't have his eye patch on so surprise! Nasty scarred up eye here- at least it's just a patch of scar tissue, not an open hole. Maybe a relaxing place like this would be a good place for someone to dare to talk to him?]
[Quest | Wrongfully accused]
[The few executors here have been trying to debate the specters OUT of running the maybe Revenant out of town and it's clear Dimitri is getting frustrated by the run-around.]
Enough!
[Oh. Well, he sure just did summon his Lance and is stalking towards the person in question. Uh oh]
[Underside]
[So yeah, looks like you either got teamed up with or stumbled on the boar doing the one thing he seems to care about: killing things. Unlike many of the other Executors, he has no flashy powers. He's just... terrifyingly physically strong. Even when not using his massive lance he's just crushing skulls between his hands like melons. Beware of getting too close- his friendly fire is 100% on.]

Ardyn Fuckthisguy | 15 fantasies, still not final | hella wrath
[Ardyn (or, whatever name he might be going by, given memloss) is quite tall, but it's sometimes hard to tell, hunched or slouched as he normally stands and covered in layered clothing as he is. With all of that shed, it's much more apparent that he tends not to hold himself to full height, and even now, or especially now, he seems to want to draw in on himself.
Perhaps being absolutely littered with scars crisscrossing all over his body might be a reason. When he's in the water, smelling distinctly floral, he ducks under completely, and when he comes back up, he pushes unruly hair out of his eyes. He seems perfectly at ease bathing like this and also doesn't seem to just take his time to relax! Like fine wosh u soul but take care of yourself and take a break, fool.]
Quest
[A child is tucked in his arms as if this is the most natural thing in the world for Ardyn, little arms around his neck, clinging to the ruffled collar, detailed scarf. Ardyn makes soothing noises and asks an occasional calm question, though it looks like he's not making much headway.]
Ah, excuse me. Would you at all mind giving me a bit of assistance? This dear one seems to be looking for someone. [He frowns lightly, and looks back down at the kid.] I can only assume, at this point, that it's someone who looks like him, if at all possible, though I recognize that that is...not always a reliable way to identify a person by any means.
Underside
[Ardyn's strange garb turns into fancy flowing layered robes of white and red, his hair growing longer and slightly more kempt, and he is ready. He flits about the battlefield with magenta afterimages following, warping as far as the throw of a weapon, looking absolutely comfortable, tall, belonging.
Unless that weapon happens to be a scythe. Perhaps you've seen him with it before, fancy and doesn't look particularly deadly, and much more normal in size. In a fight, however, a pink glow envelops it, and it because much more unreasonable in size, easily three or four times in length as his height, blade massive. He, uh...he looks like he's got this fight, honestly.
But if he doesn't, or you're already in the middle of a fight, the scythe might not make an appearance. Instead, he holds out his hands, ready for...something.]
If you are injured, come to me! Don't push yourself so hard that you fall!
[Looks like we got a combat medic on our side.]

Arianna Caledonia 🌱 Atlus Cartography and Restaurant Simulator 2014 🌱 ...gluttony?
[Arianna (who may or may not be calling herself that) is... trying to map out the halls.
That's it, that's the prompt.]
2. Lost Child
[Different people have different ways of dealing with the same problem. Some people would approach the issue of a lost, crying child Specter by just searching, or by trying to get more information out of the poor dead kid. Arianna's approach is somewhere in the middle.]
Perhaps we should check up there, next?
[With a few carefully placed hops, Arianna makes her way onto the roof of a building, the delighted kid held securely in one arm. Maybe cheering them up a little will help them more clearly remember where they last saw their mother. Maybe moving around a lot will lead the two of them to stumble across her. Maybe she Arianna has no idea what she's doing and she's just having a good time. Probably a little of each.]
3. Undersi... oh no
[Revenants are dangerous, and some of them are clearly even more so. Even experienced Executors have to be careful, lest they be "killed" by the once-human monsters. Just such a Revenant, taking a four-legged form not entirely unlike a deer, is currently running around at top speed...
...terrified, from Arianna who's chasing it?]
Halt! Come back! How am I to prepare venison if you continue running away?
[Evidently, it isn't only Spectres that should fear being consumed, when a certain someone's reasoning comes into play.]

Jasper | Dragon Quest XI | envy, with a touch of pride perhaps | act 2 spoilers
[For one particular newly-minted Executor, the fact that the conbini doesn't exactly follow the laws of physics doesn't seem particularly strange, because he's pretty sure he's never seen one of these anyway. Of course, there's plenty he can't remember to begin with, but it feels unfamiliar in the way some other locations around Limbo that he's visited don't, and the reason why probably has to do with the fact that he's clanking around in armor instead of more modern apparel. As far as Jasper is concerned, all convenience stores may as well be infinite hallways of increasingly strange products, and while he feels a measure of curiosity, his attention is caught fairly early on in the investigation by the fact that they have fruit sandwiches on sale.
Hell yes. Hell yes, he is absolutely going to get himself a fruit sandwich. How does he pay for it? Who knows, nobody seems to care about currency here, he'll just take it and head outside, where he'll sit down on a bench and take a bite into it.
His brows furrow as he chews it... and then he looks between the slices. There is the barest hint of cream and a tiny sliver of strawberry... even if it looked positively luxurious in the packaging...]
...is this a joke.
ace tactician investigations
[Well, he's been given a sidequest, and there's probably going to be some sort of reward from it, so Jasper is on the case! He's going here and there, interviewing the Specters who made the reports and investigating the last known locations of the individuals who have disappeared. You can find him going through notes in the lobby of the hotel, and keeping an eye out for potential other Executors that he can wave down...]
You, there- make yourself useful and follow up on this.
[He holds out a report, without really bothering to listen for an answer.]
This needs to be dealt with quickly, so I'd like to cover as much ground as possible.
HELLO FROM THE UNDERSIDE. AT LEAST I COULD SAY THAT I TRIED-
[So you've got some kinda prettyboy white knight and you really expect something more noble for his magical boy transformation than some kind of flamboyant medieval Sith Lord thing. Or maybe you didn't. Regardless, he seems to be having a grand old time zipping around and darkness nuking the everloving shit out of a Revenant. Stop, stop, it's already dead!
...well okay you know we're all dead here but. You know what I mean. He is clearly having far too good a time of this, though it's kind of hard to tell if it's from the UNLIMITED POWEEEEER or if it's from just how thoroughly he beat that thing down!!]

Mipha | Breath of the Wild | lust, sloth, or envy
[Mipha is drawn to the water. Even without memories, she's seen herself in a mirror, and so even though she draws a blank when it comes to actual experience with the stuff, she's sure it must have been something she was accustomed to. At least, she thinks she's sure. No, she can't keep thinking in circles--the point is as soon as she sees it she's quite drawn to the bathhouse.
For Mipha, the water is colder than most would appreciate in a bath setting. It's like stepping into a cool lake on a warm summer's day--not unpleasant, but maybe a little surprising. She finds the deepest part of the bath and stretches herself out entirely, floating easily. When someone else arrives--well, she feels a little shy, but she wants to welcome them at the same time.
So she waves.] Will you be joining me? The water is lovely.
B; A Spectre-cular Argument
[As an Executor, they have to maintain order. Mipha is a dutiful woman, and she'd like to do her best at this task. But, approaching the two shouting spectres, she seems overwhelmed before she even begins.]
Excuse me-- Both of you, if you'd just--If I may--
[She's speaking much too quietly to get even a syllable in edgewise with these two. Help?]
C; Underside
[Was Mipha entirely sure she could fight when she went down here? No. However, this was part of her duties as well, was it not? She would have to try her best.
And oh, she moves like liquid with the trident she calls forth, keeping distance by three-pronged force, shifting and twisting. If she doesn't think about it, her body knows on its own what to do.
What's more concerning is the state of everyone else. She wants to help. As soon as there's any pause, she calls out to those nearby:]
How do you fare? Are you injured?
A
I suppose you must miss it, looking the way you do.

Alice | Alice Grove | Sloth, wrath, pride
[The argument stopped very abruptly. Alice had tried to break it up, one of them had taken a swing at her, and now both spectres were in arm locks.]
Now you strike me as reasonable folk who just got a bit caught up in the moment, isn't that right? Say yes.
[The spectres nervously said yes.]
I'm sure that under normal circumstances you'd be the very best of friends and you'd never try to punch someone trying to break up an argument, isn't that right? Say yes.
[The spectres agreed again.]
See? We're all being perfectly polite to each other and all it took was just a bit of gentle encouragement. I'm going to let go of your arms now, and I'm sure you'll both be perfectly happy to discuss this like adults.
[She did, and spectres went back to their argument, but in much more reasonable tones of voice, while occasionally side-eyeing her nervously. The scary woman dusted her hands off as she walked away.]
-Underside-
Her executor form was garbed in a white and blue body suit, and armed with a spindly looking warhammer, which she wielded with gusto, smashing revenants to paste with a certain unholy zeal. If her suit didn't hide her face, you would be able to see that she was enjoying herself. Perhaps a bit more than was healthy.
A revenant that looked like a cross between a geode and a knight in shining armor managed to disarm her with a clever blow, but she didn't even hesitate, tackling it to the ground so she could start pounding its face (in so much as it even HAD a face) to a shattered ruin with her bare hands.
The revenant stopped moving a while ago, but she's not stopping.
underside
[A red-haired teenager with a halberd in her hands glares at Alice's rage moment before turning her attention to a flock of flying eyeballs.]
That one's going to disappear soon enough. Make yourself useful!

Pascal | Tales of Graces | Sloth, Pride, or Envy
Oh, hey, this looks good! Oh, hey, that looks good too!
[Pascal has a small basket, which is utterly overflowing with various low-grade snack foods, some of which are in flavors such as 'MEAT' and 'LEGUME'.]
All no-prep stuff, too! This'll keep me going for a while. Oh hey!
[And then she's turning towards you.]
What'cha up to?
[Argument Resolution]
[Pascal is looking at two Spectres, screaming at each other over whether an object exists or was stolen. After some time, she tries to get a word in edgewise:]
Erm, what even is the thing you're talking about?
[One attempts to describe the thing, but before he can get anywhere he's shouted at by the second over how the thing never existed to describe in the first place, you're being ridiculous, why is the Executor trying to enable your stupidity, the Executor is obviously an idiot, etc. etc.]
Uh...
[... Yeah, she could use some help.]
[Enemies on the Underside]
[Pascal's usual underkempt, simple outfit with scarf has been traded out for a fancy school-uniform-like number as she goes to get to work protecting Limbo from its maze-like dark side. She's wielding a large staff with a heavy-looking end, but notably, seems to be staying away from monsters - instead spinning the staff into a gun-like position to blast away at floating, wyvern-esque Revenants, staying far enough away to easily see their attempts to breathe fire at her and jump clear.
At least, until one manages to get close - only to get straight-up bonked by a wild-looking swing of the staff's heavier end.]
Nope!
[She seems to be doing okay for now, but speeding things up would certainly be nice. She has to get tired eventually, after all! ... Right???]

Looking for something that isn't horrendously vague about all of its ingredients. I see you're not having much luck there, either.

Odile | Original Character Do Not Steal | Sloth
[ The bath house is... an interesting place for Odile. Not because the function was confusing or the purpose nonsensical, but simply because... there’s a strange feeling of nostalgia about it. A feeling full of longing.
So it draws Odile in, standing there staring blankly ahead at the signs for the changing room, trying to work out why there’s such a familiar, happy feeling about a bath house of all things.
But a bath house is for bathing and so eventually it becomes time to actually use it to bathe. There’s just one problem: the ornate dress he’s wearing. Something that looks like it would have taken a lot of assistance to put on.
How... how does he take this off...? ]
Um... uh...
[ And more importantly how does he even ask for help taking it off...? ]
B. Uncommunicative Spectre Quest
[ A revenant in disguise would be a real problem if true, especially if that’s why other spectres are disappearing, so Odile really wants to get to the bottom of this one. But something about it also doesn’t sit well. Something about the accusation feels... unfair.
But first they have to find the spectre in question. ]
...Do you think they’ll actually want to speak with us?
C. Underside
Whoa—!!
[ As an executor, Odile has grown large bird wings where his nubby, little flightless ones were hidden before. He hasn’t quite worked out how to fly properly with them yet, but he can at least manage a prolonged glide.
Landing though... well that’s still a work in progress.
He skids to a halt with all the gracefulness of a fawn standing for the first time, and then quickly tries to straighten back up. ]
I-I’m sorry...!! Do you need some help?! You look hurt...!
[ Aside from flight, he’s got healing as his other power. And thankfully he’s a lot better at that than using the wings. ]
D. Wildcard!
[ I’M DOWN FOR WHATEVER esp if none of these work for you ]
B
I'm sure we'll find some way to get them to talk. We'll need to make it clear it's in their best interests, of course.

Still, she's a little surprised when she's suddenly approached and asked to help look for this child's mother. On the one hand, she doesn't think she's really going to be that much help in finding them, but on the other... well. It's not like she has anything else to do.
So after a moment, Madotsuki gives a quiet nod in agreement. She'll help you find the child's mother, Susan.]

V | Mystic Messenger | Lust or Sloth
[Night. This is the time Spectres have been reportedly going missing. He doesn't want to believe the accusations that someone living peacefully here is a Revenant, but he can't deny the pain and fear he's seen among the neighborhood.
So he's stolen away, dressed simply in dark colors, to spy on the neighborhood through the night. Camera in hand, hood pulled down low, he stands waiting at the bottom of a zig-zaggy set of stairs where he can see the whole street while remaining in the shadows himself.
He doesn't seem to realize how stupidly suspicious he looks.]
B. Underside, Overwhelmed
[Looks like the resident Soft Boy made it through his first Revenant run-in unharmed. He seems less relieved than perturbed, though.]
They're... people, aren't they?
[You can give a man a rifle, but you can't make him shoot. He sits with his hands clasped tightly between his knees, face drawn, gaze low.]
I don't know if I can do this. There's really no other way...?
B
...well, it’s something that needs to be dealt with. They can’t have people holding back in situations where things get serious, can they?]
It really isn’t the same as killing a person, though. It’s more for their own good than leaving them to rampage for eternity, from the explanations we’ve been given.

Penny Polendina | RWBY | wrath, lust, pride
[For your consideration; a young woman taking advantage of a particularly bad distortion of the hotel's hallways to Scooby-doo in and out of various doors. She doesn't seem particularly upset, more curious than anything.]
[She's currently leaning out of one doorway and carefully watching her own waving arm sticking out of the open door a few rooms down.]
ii. Bathhouse
This is nice?
[The water definitely is nice and warm, with a vague fragrance of rose petals drifting up in the steam. Maybe Penny's uncertainty is due to sitting at the edge of the in-ground tub, trailing her legs in from the knees down.]
[Going in any deeper seems like a bad idea, she's not sure why.]
[But this is nice, this is fine.]
[She's also managed to procure a simple green one-piece swimsuit from somewhere, she might not quite understand that this is a literal BATH house.]
iii. Argument
I understand- if we- um.
[The arguing Spectres are not listening. They're in each others faces, getting louder. Penny might not exactly remember what her wheelhouse was in life but this feels pretty well outside it.]
I NEED YOU BOTH TO STOP YELLING SO WE CAN FIGURE THIS OUT THANK YOU SORRY PLEASE!
[And now she's physically between them, gripping them by the collar and forcefully pushing them apart.]
[Someone please help.]

COMBAT TEST: LOCKED TO DIMITRI, LAPIS, ANNA
Thank you for volunteering yourselves, brave Executors! And welcome to our very first Boss Combat Test! Think of this as a tutorial to help both you (and me!) work out the ins and outs of this system. Check the Combat section of the FAQ to get a brief primer on how things will work. By testing things out now, we can ensure things run smoothly when the game itself opens. And to help us along, your friendly local Executor Rei has volunteered to serve as your boss encounter for this run! Doesn't she look so happy to be here?
"... Why do I have to do something pointless like this...?"
"Now wait just a second–!"
Attagirl!
During this fight, the Executors will have access to their base Executor abilities and their one unique power that was chosen before the test started. To make things more interesting, Rei will be using the same abilities at a higher tier than her opponents. Oooh, how exciting! She will be using ice-based powers that allow her to create ice from the moisture in the environment and reshape them into anything she pleases.
Which is a problem, as you will be fighting her in an enormous underground lake, illuminated by... no actually apparent lightsource? It's Purgatory, don't worry about it. The cavern is massive, with the ceiling too high to touch and the walls quite a way out from where you find yourselves positioned for this fight. The four of you are stood right in the middle of the lake, but thankfully, the water is only ankle-deep. It won't impede your footing much, but stay on your guard, anyway!
Since she's a gracious boss, Rei will be allowing the Executors to make the first move against her. Each Executor should make one comment under this heading that will designate your "turn" with the actions you intend to take against her. You may also coordinate beforehand to team up and combine your actions into one comment, but this is not necessary!
And of course, talking is a free action.
When you have submitted your actions for the turn, your numbers will be rolled and compared against Rei's Death Number which will determine the outcome of the turn. Once all Executors have submitted their moves for the turn, Rei will then take hers and combat will begin in earnest!
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ping me in the mod plurk.
That's all! Have fun beating up this tiny waif of a girl!
